Subscription terms
These terms apply when you subscribe to the DC Economics newsletter or use the member area. Reading the free previews and the Learn library needs no account and no agreement beyond ordinary good sense.
1. Who you are dealing with
DC Economics ([LEGAL NAME, address]), Manchester, UK. Contact: hello@dc-economics.com.
2. What a subscription is
A subscription gives you every newsletter issue in full, by email and in the member area; the archive of past issues; audio narration where it exists; and, as it opens, early access to the analysis platform we are building. The platform is in private beta: we make no promise about when any part of it becomes available, and the subscription price is for the newsletter.
3. Prices
- Monthly Subscription: $29 per month.
- Annual Subscription: $249 per year ($99 less than twelve months at $29).
Prices are in US dollars. Where tax applies it is shown at checkout. We may change prices; a change applies to you from your next renewal after we have told you by email at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before then.
4. Billing and renewal
Payment is taken by Stripe when you subscribe and again at each renewal (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it; while it is unpaid your access continues for a short period, then stops until it is paid. Stripe emails your receipts and invoices.
5. Cancelling
Cancel at any time from Manage billing in the member area. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep access until then and are not charged again.
6. Refunds
If you subscribe and change your mind, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. Renewal payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it or we have failed to provide the subscription. Refunds go back to the card that paid.
7. Your account
Access is by email sign-in link; there is no password. Keep your inbox secure and do not share the links. A subscription is for one person.
8. Using what we publish
Subscription content is for your own personal, non-commercial use. Do not forward full issues, republish them, scrape the member area, or share your access. Quoting a short passage with a link to the source is welcome. We may end a subscription that breaks this, without refund for the remaining period.
9. Not advice
Nothing we publish is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Read the disclaimer; it is part of these terms.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to publish one issue a week and to keep the member area available, but we do not guarantee either. We may change the format, frequency or features. If we stop publishing altogether we will refund the unused part of any annual subscription.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from decisions you make on the basis of what we publish, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top is the date of the current text. Changes that affect subscribers are emailed at least 30 days before they take effect.
